David's Personal Fundraising Page
Hi Everyone! Each year I run in the NYC Marathon with the intent to raise money for a charity that is near and dear to me. This year I have selected to run for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS provides direct support to families who have been impacted by a death in the military regardless of geography or circumstance.
TAPS has played a critical role for the family members of soldiers that passed during my time in service and more personally, TAPS has played a very significant role supporting my girl friend and her family after the passing of her brother Ben Vasquez. Many of you may already know the story of Ben Vasquez and I am honored to run in memory of him this year. If you are not familiar with Ben's Story; long before I was aquatinted with my girl friend Adriana, Ben had reached out to me in regards to joining the U.S. Army. Being a recruiter for the Army at the time, I had multiple conversations with him and helped him enlist into the U.S. Army. Ben climbed the ranks and became an expert in his field before he was unfortunately taken from us at a far too young of an age. I have seen first hand how the loss of a family member can impact a family and TAPS has been there every step of the way for the Vasquez family.
The funds I raise will flow directly into TAPS programming which supports these families through an amazing network of resources, seminars and publications. TAPS provides these services at no charge to survivors from all branches of the service, including Reserves and National Guard. TAPS’ programs and services are available not only for immediate family, but also for extended family and friends. Please help support this cause and honor our fallen heroes by making a tax deductible donation. No donation is too big or too small and together we can reach our goal!
Thank you!
