Honoring Maj. Stephen "Cajun" Del Bagno
This year, I'm taking on the streets of New York City to honor the life of and remember a true American hero, Maj. Stephen "Cajun" Del Bagno. As I look forward to lacing up my running shoes for the NYC Marathon, it’s not just about the miles, but the meaningful journey I embark on with TAPS.
TAPS provides heartfelt support to families who've lost a hero in service to our nation. It's a cause close to my heart, and running this marathon is my way of extending my support to Gold Star families, ensuring the legacies of their loved ones soar on.
Maj. Del Bagno lived a life that epitomized courage, passion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His words, "Fly good, don't suck," were more than just a pre-flight mantra; they were a testament to his dedication, to his team, and to the mission ahead.
His philosophy on life was a beacon of inspiration: "Remember when you find your passion, it will give you purpose, be persistent in your pursuit, be personable - stay humble, credible and approachable, and you will prosper!" These words not only fueled his journey but also guide me as I run in his honor.
Join me in this marathon of purpose. Your support will help TAPS continue its invaluable mission, providing solace and support to those who've endured the ultimate sacrifice. Let’s keep the memory of Maj. Del Bagno and many like him alive, proving that their legacies will forever propel us forward.
Why I Run: My journey through running is also a deeply personal one. It's a battle against physical and mental barriers, a testament to the strength we can find within ourselves. Running keeps my Rheumatoid Arthritis at bay, allowing me to push past the pain and embrace the power of perseverance. Every step I take is fueled by the knowledge that I'm running for an incredible cause. My goal is to cross the NYC marathon finish line in well-under 4 hours. This isn't just a race; it's a statement that no obstacle is too great when our hearts and efforts are dedicated to honoring those who've given everything for us.
Join me in honoring our fallen heroes by supporting me in this effort!
No donation is too big or too small.
Much love and rad thanks,Steve
