Welcome to My Personal Page
My family became involved with TAPS when Mike passed suddenly in October of 2020. Fortunately, a close widow friend who's husband also served in the military referred me to the organization almost immediately after my husband died. In the initial days after Mike's passing, TAPS helped me to navigate the Veteran's benefits system and were far more helpful and knowledgeable than the actual VA. TAPS provided me with a widow mentor who made herself available around the clock for comfort and guidance as I was thrown into single parenting three very young children. And as the days turned into months and now years since Mike passed, TAPS has offered numerous webinars, seminars, and camps for me and my children to attend for support and assistance navigating a world without my husband and their dad. My children are super excited to attend Good Grief Camp each Memorial Day Weekend where they spend quality time with and are supported by Good Grief Mentors. The TAPS Good Grief Mentors are all adults connected to the military and selflessly give up their entire holiday weekend to hang out with a bunch of kids who have lost a parent that was also connected to the military. TAPS provides a unique connection and source of support that these families cannot find anywhere else, and while TAPS isn't a group I wished to be apart of, I'm so thankful it exists.
The funds I raise will flow directly into TAPS programming- programming which my family continues to benefit from directly. TAPS provides these services at no charge to survivors from all branches of the service, including Reserves and National Guard. TAPS’ programs and services are available not only for immediate family, but also for extended family and friends. Please help me honor Mike and all our fallen heroes by supporting me in this effort. No donation is too big or too small.
Thank you!
