Rachel's Run for Ron
On October 22, 2017, I will be participating in the 42nd Annual Marine Corps Marathon Events in support of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
As most of you know my brother was the first Marine killed in combat while serving in Afghanistan on May 7, 2004. Ron's legacy was one of helping others, from a little boy to the literal day he died. I can think of no better way of honoring him on this 13th year of rememberance than to get myself moving and raise money for a cause that has helped so many families like my own. My brother taught me to "stick up for the little brother" to "always be strong when others are weak" and most importantly he taught me to "love harder". The older I get the more I appreciate these lessons that a wise 23 year old knew AND practice at such a young age. I am asking for your support in love but also if you so feel so a donation to a program that is close to my Gold Star heart.
The funds I raise will flow directly into TAPS programming which supports these families through an amazing network of resources, seminars and publications. TAPS provides these services at no charge to survivors from all branches of the service, including Reserves and National Guard. TAPS’ programs and services are available not only for immediate family, but also for extended family and friends. Please help me honor our fallen heroes by supporting me in this effort. No donation is too big or too small.
Semper Fi has become our family motto and "no greater love than this" is our creed. Thank you so much for taking the time and the love to join me on this journey!
