Welcome to My Personal Page
For the second consecutive year, I will be participating in the Armed Forces Cycling Classic in support of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS provides direct support to families who have been impacted by a death in the military regardless of geography or circumstance.
The funds I raise will flow directly into TAPS programming which supports these families through an amazing network of resources, seminars and publications. TAPS provides these services at no charge to survivors from all branches of the service, including Reserves and National Guard. TAPS’ programs and services are available not only for immediate family, but also for extended family and friends. Please help me honor our fallen heroes by supporting me in this effort. No donation is too big or too small.
This year, I am riding in honor of a fallen hero, Sgt Cory Bay, USMC. Sgt Bay died on 30 Jan 2014 and was buried in the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetary. Cory loved running. Even after he was seriously injured in combat, he tried his best to continue running. He was a huge Chicago Cubs fan, and always dreamed of seeing a game at Wrigley Stadium. He even looked up marathons that he could participate in that were close to Wrigley so that he could combine the two things that he loved.
Thank you!
Fred Ferares
LtCol, USMC (Ret)
