Dear Friends and Family,

I am excited to share with you that I will be participating in the 2025 Chicago Marathon in October and I have set a personal goal to raise over $2,500 for Team T.A.P.S.

T.A.P.S. (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) is an incredible organization that provides comfort and hope 24/7 through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones. As a veteran of the US Coast Guard this organization is meaningful to me.

Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and provide essential support to those who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Together, we can ensure that T.A.P.S. can continue to offer their invaluable support to surviving families.

I am also honored to let you all know that I will be running in memory of Col Dapra, US Air Force:

In Memory of Colonel Lawrence Dapra

Colonel Lawrence Dapra proudly served our country for 22 years, beginning his military career after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1963. He served in both the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Air Force, ultimately retiring as a Colonel. His career in communications electronics took him around the world, with assignments in Japan, Italy, and across the United States.

Col. Dapra was a decorated officer, receiving numerous honors including the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal with OLC. He was a dedicated husband, father of three daughters, and proud grandfather. His leadership, integrity, and devotion to his family and country continue to inspire all who knew him.

I will run this marathon in his honor — a celebration of his life, service, and enduring legacy.

I look forward to sharing my marathon journey with you and, more importantly, making a lasting difference for Team T.A.P.S.

-Walter
