Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi Everyone,
As most of you know I am an avid and passionate runner. I have been given the opportunity to use that passion to support a great cause: TAPS - The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
I have the honor of participating in the Army 10 Miler on Oct 8th – a 10 mile run through the iconic and historic sites in Washington DC. I am being supported by my employer; Oshkosh Defense and have joined the TAPS team to raise funds to support this great cause. Everyone of us should be ever grateful for the ultimate sacrifice our fellow countrymen and women and their grieving families gave for us in protecting and serving our country. We take for granted the ability to participate in whatever sport and leisure activities we chose, something which is possible because of the sacrifices that others have made on our behalf.
Team TAPS runners like myself, fundraise for TAPS, which has been on the frontlines since 1994 reaching out in their darkest hour with hope and healing to those grieving the loss of a loved one in the military. TAPS holds numerous seminars, retreats, family campout, and Good Grief Camps where 1,000’s of TAPS survivors are able to connect in a safe and healing environment to share their stories, learn from one another, and gain valuable coping skills from grief and trauma experts.
Please be so kind as to make a tax-free donation to my effort to support the families of our fallen military members.
Here are some of the things your donations support:
$500 Funds 10 TAPS Resource Kits for newly grieving families
$250 Supports an active duty/reserve/recent veteran military mentor that is paired with a surviving child to attend a TAPS Regional Good Grief Camp
$100 Registers a surviving child to attend a TAPS Good Grief Camp
$50 Purchases one TAPS Survivor Resource Kit containing vital information and special items designed to provide a personal resource, as well as items of comfort and care to the newly bereaved
$25 Purchases a backpack for a military surviving child at a TAPS Good Grief Camp, which they can fill with new memories with their mentor, family and peers.
Thank you all !
Jay
